Mike G.
Nov. 30th
Cleveland, Oh

A day filled with anticipation finally yielded it’s rewards as we
took our seats in the balcony. We noticed right away that there
was a large number of drums set up on the stage. On either side
of the main drum riser, there was a combination Snare & Tom unit.
Off to stage left and stage right there were stand-alone Toms and
a third stand-alone Tom was sitting in front of the right side
keyboard riser. We could only guess at their purpose.

Kasim Sulton took the stage promptly at 8 o’clock (he may even
have started a minute or two early). After introducing himself
and explaining what the night was all about, he proceeded to play
3 songs off his new CD. We bought the CD on the way out and listened
to it on the drive home. While I don’t expect any of these songs
to crack the Billboard Charts, the CD was very good. Kasim is quite
talented, and has a great voice.

Then it was Patti Russo’s turn. She too came out and sang 3 songs
for the appreciative crowd. Like Kasim, Patti is very talented and
has worked with a number of artists other than Meatloaf, like Queen
and Trans-Siberian Orchestra. When Patti finished, that 3rd Tom
was moved to front center stage and a spotlight beneath it lit up.

Meat walked out on stage with a pair of drumsticks in his hands
and began working the crowd. When the time was right, he positioned
himself behind the Tom, and with one powerful stroke, set-off a
thunderous percussion feature. Lights beneath the other drums came
on to show Patti Russo and Pearl Aday working the Snare/Tom combo’s
flanking the drum riser. Mark Alexander was working the Tom at stage
right while one of the guitarist (sorry, I didn’t catch his name)
worked stage left.

This continued for several minutes leading into “Life Is A Lemon”.
And from there the show just kept getting better. I didn’t keep tabs
on the playlist, but I can tell you that they played all of our
favorites as well as a couple of extras like “Johnny B Good” and
“Mony, Mony”. When the night was over, and the house lights came
back up, we found that the show had lasted 2 and a half hours.

This show just goes to prove that Meatloaf is not just an actor and
a singer. He is an entertainer. He knows how to work the crowd to
a fever pitch, and then Meat and the band feed off of that energy
to provide an incredible concert experience. If you get the opportunity
to see the “Just Having Fun” show, or any Meatloaf show for that matter,
I urge you to go for it, you won't be disappointed.

kerry b. elmira, ny coach USA Meatloaf and Freinds are AWSOME!!! I have wanted to see them for years. I saw them at allentown this year for the first time and thought the show was incredible and that was in the 15th row from the stage. This time I had 2nd row seats. I love the way they open with kasim and patti. Then came Meatloaf with a powerful presentation of Life is a Lemon. Mercury blues was good and I really loved the mojo story in lawyers guns and money. Meat told the security guy to leave during paradise. People immediatly ran to the front myself included. There is nothing like singing paradise with meatloaf only a few feet away singing with you. During the next segment I was blow away by pearls song and when she pointed at me I was GUILTY of loving her. I hope to hear more from her soon. When Meat finished with BAT OUT OF HELL i realized just how powerful his voice is. The song is a masterpiece and a perfect end to the best concert I have ever seen. Thank you Meatloaf and Friends. ************************************

Jennifer B. December 4, 2002 Pittsburgh, PA Meatloaf Concert – December 4, 2002 – Pittsburgh, PA – AJ Palumbo Theater This was my 8th Meatloaf concert and I was more excited about seeing Meat than the last time which was December 31, 1999, Beacon Theater, NYC. Since I am from the Columbus, OH area I started the day off with a road trip to Pittsburgh, PA. My best friend from college, Janet and I were primed for the evenings festivities. We warmed up for the concert by watching the Storytellers video. We set off to the concert about 6:30 p.m. Janet and I arrived at the AJ Palumbo Theater at about 7:05 p.m. as we parked the car in the parking garage we were checking out the other people walking down the street trying to guess if they too were anxious Meatloaf concert attendees. We walked up to the venue and spied the Marquis which read Miller Light presents MEATLOAF – of course we cheered with glee and anticipation. First things first though we went through the ticket takers and security and then headed straight for the beer line. To our pleasant surprise the kind, older gentleman serving beer asked to see our ID’s. Bless his heart considering I’m 32 and my friend Janet is turning 35 next week, we happily complied with his request. It is always fascinating to be around true die hard Meat fans. It is just something about the crowd that is magical. I wandered over to the T-Shirt stand and was thrilled to find ladies apparel to which I purchased the red and white jersey with Meatloaf across the front. Janet and I excited about the prospect of having GREAT seats headed to see where we would be seated. To our mild disappointment we were farther away than we expected but we were still in great spirits to see Meat. We settled ourselves and began to reminisce about our previous concerts and the thrill of seeing him perform live. At the stroke of 7:28 p.m. the lights dimmed and Kasim Sultan took the stage. We cheered with pure excitement. I was thrilled about hearing Kasim perform some of his own material! Kasim was amazing he was joined by members of Utopia for a song and it was a wonderful performance. (You Rock Kasim!) Kasim explained the agenda for the evening the performance would be Kasim, Patti, a short break and then Meat. Patti wearing a peasant like flowing blouse (I love her stage clothes) took the stage immediately after Kasim and rocked the house with a song titled Madeline. It was AWESOME! (Patti you are extremely talented! Thank you for showcasing it for us!) It was great to see Patti center stage, her performance was to the core, true Rock and Roll. Great Show! At the short break Janet and I decided to split another beverage and we headed to the concession stand. At this point we were truly pumped for the concert; even though we were only mildly please with our seats. While in line there were two men who asked two other women (perhaps friends of theirs) to switch seats. Janet popped up and said we will switch seats with you. The two very wonderful men stated the seats were too cramped for them and wanted to switch. We introduced ourselves and asked if they were sure about switching and they said yes. Janet and I felt a little guilty about it and offered to buy them a beer, but they guys were great about it. So we switched and to our utter AMAZEMENT we ended up sitting in the 7th row! (To these two men THANK YOU you are both wonderful and we really had a great time.) Now totally primed for the big event we waited in anticipation. Two fabulous women sitting behind us leaned forward and asked “If we had switched seats?” We said yes. They were thrilled and we chatted about Meat and how excited we were. Just then the lights dimmed and the band began to take the stage and I screamed “There he is! It’s Meat!” The crowd cheered. The concert began with a wonderful drum display with Meat beating a drum and glitter spraying all over. It was AMAZING! Songs played on Lawyers Guns and Money; Crazy about a Mercury; I would do anything for Love but I won’t do That; Life is a Lemon and I want my Money Back; Rock and Roll Dreams Come through. The performance was just perfect. Meat was at his peak, never sounding better. By now during the concert Janet and I had made friends with the women sitting behind us and we would stand, dance, and make “eyes” at sexy Kasim (Once he even waved in our direction. It was Great! He is so hot!) But nothing compares to the pure sexual energy that Meat gives off. Our group of women were unanimous on that subject. To our amazement the group of 8 people sitting at the end of our row got up and left the concert an hour into it so we moved down to the end of the row to their seats. Not wanting to be away from our new Meatloaf friends I scooted back and waved the two women up another row. We couldn’t believe that the majority of people had not gotten out of their seats. At one climactic moment Pearl waved the crowd to their feet to which we quickly complied. Pearl waved to us and non verbally “thanked” us for getting to our feet. Now our seats were great and we were definitely enjoying the concert when it looked as though some people were headed to the stage. In a flash I grabbed the hands of Janet and the woman next to me and made a mad dash to the stage which landed us front and center. And at the feat of the man himself! Meatloaf was 12 inches from me. I was in heaven. Life could not get any better than this. Songs played on: Two out of three ain’t bad; then a more intimate setting on stools. At this point John Golden played Mony Mony; Kasim and Patti sang. But the true highlight at this point was Pearl who sang a blues song titled Guilty. She is truly amazing, and a very talented singer. Ok back to Meat – there were some crazy things happening on stage, bras were being thrown and Meat and Patti actually put one on their head. Although I don’t think this was scripted but at one point Meat asked for a colored or lacy bra and one woman took her shirt off and handed Meat her turquoise bra. Meat was quite intrigued by this because both her nipples were pierced to which Meat had to ask her if it hurt? (Crazy night in Pittsburgh, PA) The highlight of the evening was when Meat sang “You took the words right out of my mouth” – Meat was so intense and just staring up at him was like you were in another world with him. I couldn’t help my self so I just looked at him and said “I love you” He truly is an amazing, talented, and extremely sexy man. The concert ended with Bat Out of Hell – and Damon LaScott was AWESOME on the lead guitar. He is truly a very talented individual. (We love you Damon!) The concert was fantastic I couldn’t have asked for a better show! Meat, you are THE MOST amazing, talented, sexiest man in the world and I absolutely love you! Keep Rockin! ************************************

Pam M. EJ Thomas Hall, Akron, OH Best concert I've been to. I have seen the "Stones" twice. Meat puts so much into his concert ya can't help but love him... I would travel to see him again. His interaction with the audience makes it all worth it. Not many rockers do that! I saw his "bio' on VH1. Wouldn't mind going home with him if his wife wouldn't care!!! (just kidding) ************************************

rob sm. westbury music fair n.y. meat was great. He really got into it with the crowd and the set of songs he chose to play couldn't have been any better. ************************************

Kelly H. Pittsburgh Well I don't really know where to start, so I'm just going for the beginning. Kasim came out and played 3 songs and Patti soon followed playing 3 of her own songs. Then came out the man of the 3 hours. Thats right he performed for 3 hours straight. He opened with Life is a Lemon and closed with Bat our of Hell. Towards the middle of the concert women start throwing their bras on the stage and in Meat fashion...he through the small ones back. Right when Patti and Meat were starting to sing Took the Words... a big black bra came flying onto the stage. Patti and Meat put a cup on each of their heads (that's how big it was). Amanda came out and sang Two out a Three with the group. While Kasim was performing one of his songs Meat took his stool out from under him and well you can guess what happened. Kasim went to sit down and there was no stool and down he went. He laughed about it. Meat also broke one of his strings on his guitar...when he was throwing his guitar picks out into the crowd he tended to get more on the stage then into the audience. Over all I must say it was one of the best times I have ever had at a concert. Never stop Rock'n ************************************

Marv State Theater Detroit Dec 12 Meatloaf Rocks!! Kasim came out and did a few from his new cd. Followed by Patti for three. Wow what a voice! Then Meat came on the stage. Played three and at that point took off his shoe. Broken toe but what a performance. Played for two straight hours to a great and very vocal Detroit Rock City Crowd. To top it off, I had won the tickets from a local radio station 103.9 the Fox. Started out up in the sub nose bleed section. At the end of Kasim's performance one of the theater security guards came up to my wife and I and asked if we would like to sit up front! We ended up on the main floor second row from the stage! Meatloaf is Freakin amazing! ************************************

Thomas detroit, michigan dec 12, 2002 I really like the show. Very personal and entertaining. Too bad about the toe (ouch). First Meatloaf show for me, I was impressed. Won't be the last one. ************************************

Rich D. Holiday Concert Poughkeepsie 12/10/02 I saw Meat about two years ago, also here in Poughkeepsie NY, and was blown away. SO when I heard he was coming again I ran for tickets, and took my sister with me. It was 3 hours of absolute entertainment. Patti Risso opened and I tell you, she should have her own contract! Meatloaf himself was beyond description. I am a few years younger than him and I have no idea where he gets his energy. The venue was small so the fans felt a real closeness with Meat, and he told us how some of his best concerts were in Poughkeepsie, which is where he first sang "Anything For Love" live, so he decided to introduce part of the new duet with Patti live that night. All I can say is if the new CD was being sold, the line would have been out the door. If any fans out there have Meat coming to thier area on this tour, RUN don't walk for tickets! ************************************

Tim Dec. 15 Toledo, Ohio Lot's of "incidents..." Meat was about to start one of his songs when his ring just fell off his finger! So he went on to explain his weight loss thing... Then during Paradise, Patti accidentally "finger-nailed" Meat on the head and he actually was bleeding...so right in the middle to the song, he says "am I bleeding...you're out for blood!" When they're sitting out front during 2 out of 3, the lights went out on Pearl, Patti & piano guy...who remain in the dark until the techies got it fixed. Also during this time, Meat actually took off his sock to show the crowd his broken toe that he sustained in Detroit at the State Theater on Thursday...gross... that wasn't a crowd pleaser!! And sadly, he did not do that great rendition of Rock & Roll Dreams Come Through that we enjoyed at his summer concert. Still... A great show! ************************************

Dani D. Dec 14th, 2000 Chicago, IL All I gotta say is Kick ass performance. I really had alot of fun this past Saturday night at the Meat concert in Chicago. Now here is a review but please forgive me due to the fact I might forget a couple things. After a wait outside the Congress in freezing cold, the doors opened to general admission seating so front row was up for grabs! My fiance, John, and I settled for fourth row seats. I also was able to meet Janny and her friend, Gina. At 8pm, the lights dimmed and Kasim took the stage to warm up the crowd. Kasim sang three songs and then Patti and the band (except Meat) rocked the house with three songs of her own. Then Meat took the stage despite having a broken toe. I found out (here ya go Jen) that Meat broke his toe by walking into a marble stair on his way to the bathroom. He was on vicodin the whole night. The show opened with Life is A Lemon with Patti and Pearl helping John by playing drums in a tribal matter. Meat then proceeded with "Mercury", "Laywers, Guns and Money" and another song that I could not place (ED: TEAR ME DOWN). Then Meat sang "All Revved Up", "Anything For Love", You Took The Words Right Out Of My Mouth", and "Paradise". Then things settled down for "Two Out Of Three". Then after that song, Meat talked about his toe and even showed us the proof by taking off his shoe and sock and showing his bare foot to the crowd. Then an interesting bit, a woman in the crowd shouted out for Meat to sing "Mony Mony" by Billy Idol. The woman originally thought that Meat sang the song and Meat made it a point to tell her that he wasn't. But he did say that Johnny Goode (ED: John! Golden) (a new band member to my thinking) knew the song and would sing it. Meat then had the woman sit on stage during the song but she was drunk and danced around Kasim and Johnny. Meat didnt allow it so he asked if she wanted to go down back in the audience or be sent off stage. The woman didnt listen so Meat had her taken off stage. Then Meat sat down and the toe took its toll. Meat started to cry and rested his head on Patti's shoulder while Pearl sang a song solo. After that came "Bat Out Of Hell" and the show was done. Meat Loaf throughout the show was keeping track on how many times he said f***. He said he was trying to break a record that he made about six shows back. He proceeded to tell the kids in the audience that they should never say that word around their parents but at school is OK! LOL! Meat was himself and in that character that he is always in. ************************************

ultimateaudio Cedar Rapids Iowa Let me say one thing WOW I attended the Meatloaf and Friends concert last evening in Cedar Rapids, Ia. I could not beleive Meat he was so awesome! The energy he gave us as the audience, was like being struck with a lightning bolt! Meat and the band made you just want to jump up on stage with them and sing our hearts out! Totally a very memorable Event! Thanks Meat! Looking so forward to the new album! ************************************

Alisa Clearwater Awesome is all I can say. Meat had incredible stage presence. He and Patty had their usual magic. The show lasted almost 3 hours and he played all the hits...except for my personal faves (For Crying Out Loud and Rock and Roll Dreams) but even so he was incredible. I won the fan club tickets for New Year's Eve and cannot wait to see him again! ************************************

Chris Melbourne, Florida I travelled back to my hometown of Melbourne, Florida for another great show by Meat Loaf. Kasim and Patti each had a short solo set to open the show and both did an outstanding job. Patti did a great cover of Queens "Tie Your Mother Down". Meat came out and as usual took total control of the near capacity crowd for the next 2+ hours and gave it all he had. The songlist was a great mix of old and new stuff as well as a few cover songs. He had a great time with the crowd as he interacted with the audience all night long. He is the total entertainer and I heard several people after the show comment on how they witnessed an "event" and not a concert. This was about the 12th time I've seen Meat and once again he did not disappoint anyone in the house. See you next week in Orlando Meat ! ************************************

Nicole C Pittsburgh, PA The Meatloaf concert I went to was on December 4th. It was so great! My friend and I are still talking about it! Meat was funny and had the crowd going from the very beginning.. I am a bigger Meatloaf fan now than I have ever been. My friend and I had the time of our lives... And Meat if you ever read this, please come back to Pittsburgh! We love you!!!!
