July 27th Dublin IRE Marlay Park I saw meat loaf yesterday and it was a million times better than i expected! The sun was indeed brighter than its ever been, when the supporting act Picturehouse were playing, i spotted Meat looking out at the side to see the croed, hardly anyone saw him among the thousands there, i waved at him and he nodded and waved back, it was great! Kasim and Patti and Pearl all did their songs which were great and then Meat came on to a huge cheer. He played all his songs brilliantly, and you'd swear he was in his twenties, with all the energy he had! He was so entertaining, memorable moments were... Meat and Patty were about to sing I'd lie for you, when some girl shouted out the name of a song, he stopped, got down off the stage, and said "That song you shouted up...I'm not the artist" but he said since it was his birthday tomorrow, he'd ask the band to play it anyway, then the thousands of fans sang happy birthday to him, and he had a big smile on his face. Another time he asked all the ladies to throw up their bra's, which many many did, and he attatched them all to his mic stand. A fan at one stage threw up a fluffy viking hat, which he wore for about a half hour, and said he'd wear it at liverpool. He was jokin around a lot and said, "i dont know about you but im havin a great time" which again everyone cheered to. But all that i said was only half of the wonderful stuff he did, it was all dark when he did Bat Out Of Hell, which made it even better, all in all it was definatley the best show i'd ever been to! Happy birthday Meat!!!

July 25th Leeds, UK Millenium Square This was my fourth Meat Loaf concert - the first one being in 1988 on the Lost Boys and Golden Girls tour in Sheffield (My first ever concert) Im now 26 years old and my musical tastes have changed a little, and although Im still a big Meat Loaf fan, I was a bit apprehensive about seeing him perform in the middle of the city centre. Due to work commitments I wasn't sure whether I would be able to attend, so I was lucky enough to go into Leeds and get a ticket for the show with only an hour to spare and Im so glad I did! Me and my friend wandered up to the Millenium square, which is a newish addition to Leeds - It is a large paved area between loads of new and old buildings, which is considered by many of the locals to be a bit of a waste of money due to the fact that not many events are staged here. When we arrived there was a massive queue around the square and around the back of the stage. The gates were suposed to open at 6pm but it was closer to 7pm when they eventually did, due to a late sound check. When we got in the square itself I was pleased to see that it looked like the type of venue that no matter where you are, you are gonna get a good view of the stage. I was very pleased with the venue but the only bad thing was that you could not buy much official merchendise apart from a few t-shirts which seem to be the same designs availible on every tour (the bat logo). The thing that I wanted most was an official programme to remember the gig, but there didn't seem to be any - why??? We managed to get a good position at the front right of the stage, where we watched the support band 'The Real People', who were from Liverpool - I'd never heard of them but they were quite good and did a good job in getting themselves known. About 30 minute later - Patti came onstage with the rest of the band and played a few songs - the Queen track 'Tie Your Mother Down' and two others which I believe she had written and were very good and got the crowd warmed up - Patti's voice seems to improve everytime I see her and she never seems to age. After Patti left the stage, ML walked on to a massive applause and sent the crowd into a frezy by banging a drum with one stick - the rest of the band joined in and they kicked in with 'Life Is a Lemmon', which although I love the song, I don't like the way he sings it live, however the rest of the set was brilliant with all the classics mixed in with the odd cover and a few songs I'd never heard of but I can't seem to get them out of my head (Tear Me Down and Crazy As A Mercury). During the first few songs, some ladies in the audience threw bras onto the stage, which Meat picked up and added the others that were on his mic stand and would later prove a problem later on when they got caught on the neck of his guitar making him stuck to the mic, which seemed to get the big man in a bit of a fluster. Half way through, the band fetched out the stools to slow things down a little and perform some more classics which included my favourite of the night 'Two Out Of Three Ain't Bad' - the crowd sang the second part of the song and it sounded just perfect - I think even Meat Loaf was impressed with how we sounded. Near to the end of the set they played the introduction to 'Id Lie For You (and thats the truth) until ML stopped the band and asked what a girl in the audience had shouted and asked her if she was sure that she was at the right concert cos they didn't play the song that she requested so he asked every band member if they could play it and thats when John Golden(ps- didn't he play bass with ML on the Bad Attitude Tour in '84/85? - he's changed loads if it is him) played 'Mony Mony' (I'd seen the set lists and reviews so it came as no suprise that they played this song) After 'Took The Words' came the mighty Bat Out Of Hell with Damon playing his heart out on the solos yet again and no matter how many times I hear it live, it just seems to sound louder and better. The crowd went mad singing along to every word and went beserk when the band took their final bow and left the stage. About 5 minutes later the band came back out with Meat Loaf declaring that this was the second time in 15 years that he had played a song after Bat, which surley must not be true cos he has done it at 3 of the concerts I have attended in the past. They went on to play 'Jonny Be Goode' which I think he should play at the end of every gig as it just finishes it of perfectley. The gig was one of his best and im sure the rest of the crowd agreed, so I hope that it's not the last time he visits the north of England and comes back to see us soon! Set List: (not sure about the order) 1. Life Is A Lemmon 2. Crazy About A Mercury 3. Lawyers Guns And Money 4. Tear Me Down 5. Deadringer For Love 6. All Revved Up 7. I'd Do Anything For Love 8. Paradise By The Dashboard Light 9. Two Out Of Three Ain't Bad 10. intro to Id Lie For You 11. Mony Mony 12. Pearl's Song (not sure about name) 13. You Took The Words Right Out Of My Mouth 14. Bat Out Of Hell 15 Johnny Be Goode Dave

July 27th Dublin IRE Marlay Park Superb is the only word I can use to describe the show in Dublin. Meat was in excellent form and once he started singing 'Dead Ringer' the show just took off and never stopped until the band left the stage after a 2 hour show. I have attended several Meat Loaf concerts over the last 20 years and I can only say that Meat is definitely improving with age !!!! The sound was excellent and Meat (as usual) had the audience eating out of his hand. I hope Meat lives up to his promise to wear the hat that was thrown on to the stage to the Liverpool show as he was not willing to give it up for anything...... All in all a really good show..... Keep on Rockin'..... Michael B

July 24th London, UK Hyde Park "Route Of Kings" Wow.. What else can be said about this monster rockstar that can still rock at the top the way he has done for many years. The last Route of Kings concert I went to was a Lord of the Dance gig, which was great fun but had set me up to expect a rather mellow affair with Meat Loaf spending most of his time sitting down with a guitar on his lap doing 'unplugged' versions of his classics.. Was I wrong or what..!! This is the first time I'd seen him live and it will not be the last as I had one of the most exhilerating evenings I can remember. From start to finsh Meat Loaf kept most of the audience on it's feet as he rocked out the biggest and best tunes he has renowned for. The excitement he managed to conjour up was nothing short of incredible. Who would have thought that at the tender age of ** (well you know) that he'd be running the width of the stage for most of the evening and still manage to sing his heart out in what I'd call traditional Meat Loaf style. It's not often you get to see a live gig where the artist actually sounds as he/she does on record but Meat Loaf is one of the exceptions as he continually managed to hit note after note perfectly to recreate some of these classics that have been around since my childhood. Something I didn't expect to see was a funny side of Meat Loaf but that's what I got and it added to an already fantastic evening. It was great to see Patti in full voice giving the amazing backing vocals that have been tied with the name Meatloaf for years. Bat out of Hell and Paradise by the Dashboard Light were worth the concert alone in my view but mix them up in a two hour extravaganza which never stopped and you'll get an idea of what I saw.. If I could do it again tomorrow I'd drop everything and be off like a shot. Meat Loaf, if you read this I'd like to thank you for being the entertainer that you are, I'd like to thank you for continuing to show your support for the UK by playing here still and I owe you an apology for not making the effort to see you live before because I have certainly been missing out. You were truly fantastic.. Steve L.

July 25th Leeds, UK Millenium Square I've been to 3 concerts now and that has to be the best yet. I loved it from the moment Patti started till Meat sang Go Johnny Go at the end. I'd have only enjoyed the two hours more if I was alone with Pearl (sorry Meat!). My only dissapointment was not having the opportunity for a Meet and Greet. That really would have topped off a perfect night. Meat doesn't come to the UK often but its worth the wait. I'll be looking forward to his next visit. Hopefully won't be as long this time. Thanx for a great concert and some very special memories. James W.

July 25th Leeds, UK Millenium Square Excellent concert!!!!! Even better than 3 years ago at Sheffield Arena, UK, where I saw him for the first time. Me and three friends got there at 2pm and qued for over 4 and a half hours before the gates opened at 6.45pm. We got on the front row at the center which was well worth the que. Meat Bound up and down the stage for 2 and a half hours without tiring, with an outstanding show. They had to turn the volume up, to overpower the audience participation. Meat had scheduled to finish with Bat Out Of Hell, but with the hugh cry for more from the audience he had to give in to us and sung Johnny B. Goode as his final piece. Great Concert, Much better atmosphere outdoors, Keep Rockin, Come Back Soon........... Robert B.

July 25th Leeds, UK Millenium Square Julie and I arrived in Leeds about 1430 after a three and a half hour journey from Glasgow. Started lining up at just before 1600 and was interested to see that THE BIG BOY still attracted fans from every age group possible ! Finally allowed in to the venue ( an open air / ( standing only )square in the centre of Leeds. )at about 1830 and the concert "kicked off" with the support band THE REAL PEOPLE, good support band, WELL DONE GUYS but let's face it, we were all there to see THE BIG BOY ( and his friends ) strut their stuff ! Julie had never been privileged enough to see the THE MIGHT ONE live before so she did not know what to expect. Experienced LOAFERS settled back and just waited for the fun to begin. We were fortunate ( due to our long wait ) to be one the "front line" behind the barrier and as close to PARADISE as you could get ! The band were good, Damon is a superb lead guitarist ( sorry Damon but NO ONE will ever replace BOB K in my mind ! ) Mark did an excellent job on keyboards, Kasim was his usual "perfection" personified, John thumped the drums like a good 'un ! John Golden also excelled and with Patty and Pearl THE GOD simply had to turn up and sing ! and act ! and take the piss ! and orchestrate the crowd as only he THE MASTER can ! The set was a mixture of some of the GREAT oldies mixed with some "fresh" ( not sure if they are bound for the new CD ) rockers and of course staples such as Johny B Good ! Meaty has not lost his touch nor his voice ( obviously not as good as it was in the ol' days ) but still able to hit the right notes at precisely the right angle ! He teased and tormented the crowd and ALWAYS new what to say and do ! Criticsms ? well not a very adventurous light show and no inflatable BAT / BLONDE or BIKE !!! I managed to catch a "flicked" guitar pick from THE KING OF ALL HE SURVEYS which will be treasured for the rest of my life ! MEATY anounced that it was his birthday next day and 6000 voices sang "HAPPY BIRTHDAT MEAT LOAF ! Sadly, all good things must come to an end and Julie and I made our way back to our hotel steeped in MEATINESS ! Please come back soon and don't forget Scotland as a venue. LONG LIVE THE KING OF ROCK AND ROLL Allen M.

July 25th Leeds, UK Millenium Square The night was fantastic! We were 5 rows from the front and nearly caught one of his drum sticks, but somebody got it before us. we were both singing along to all the songs very loud. i even knew the words to Johnny B Goode of which Meat Loaf sang after Bat Out Of Hell, the time he has done that in 15 years. thanks for a great night and let us know when your coming again. Michael and Sarah

July 25th Leeds, UK Millenium Square Have listened to Meat's albums on and off for many years now, without ever getting the chance to see him in concert. Imagine then my delight when I heard he was coming to town and playing round the corner from my office and 15-minutes walk from my flat. We quickly snapped up our tickets and spent the next month counting down the days in anticipation of the big night.... Now I've been to a lot of gigs in my time and seen some fantastic and not so fantastic performances, but last night's display by Meat Loaf and his friends was up there with the very best of them. The power he put into every song and the dramatic way in which he portrayed the narrative was truly inspiring, whilst the band, Patti and Pearl were simply superb. Favourite moments? Paradise was stunning, Anything for Love was epic, the rendition of Money Money (seemingly ad-libbed after a girl in the crowd called out for him to sing it)was impressive and I loved Dead Ringer... will definitely go and see him again and again and again. Daniel K.

July 24th London, UK Hyde Park fantastic venue, open air antisi...pation was abound, i think patti should have done more as support, not just three songs, ithink she is the best female singer meat has ever had (although i always liked katie mac ) we had the the bass player doing some songs,oh dear he drew polite appalause and little else. then the man himself came and for 2/1 hours we had the hits, the chat and a great show, anything for love was perhaps the highlight as open air it seemed to add something to the song. meat did seem to struggle towards the end and a lot of notes were missed ,but overall it was a good concert, but the neverland express is without doubt (patti excluded) the worst i have seen it, bring back bushlow on bass and get some power back into it,they play like a cabaret band. but at the end of the day its about meat and the songs, which he sang, the crowd sang and we all went home happy ade

July 24th London, UK Hyde Park As always Meatloaf gave 100%, the last time I saw him was at Wembly Arena a few years ago and he just gets better and better. It is not only a concert you attend when he is on stage, it is "A way of life". Along with Patti Russo, who is brilliant in her own right, they performed like they have known each other from birth......All I can say is that to better this I will have to come to the USA to see him in his own backyard......Awesome. Billy K.

July 24th London, UK Hyde Park An absolutely great show ... Meat was at his best, great voice, very funny and a wonderful showman. Don't ever stop rockin' Meat!!! Samantha B.

July 24th London, UK Hyde Park What can I say......... MEAT ROCKS. A gorgeous summers evening in the UK, we're all sitting there having listened to Kasim and Patty, then on walks Meat and we all go crazy. He had us right where he wanted us. We sang, we danced, we screamed for the whole time he was on stage.... and when he went off, we carried on until he came back out. Let's hope we dont have to wait too long before he comes back to London. We love you Meat Loaf xxxx Sharon

July 24th London, UK Hyde Park A master of feeding to and from the crowd. My wife Dawn and I enjoyed the full two hours and twenty minutes of his time on stage. There was an impromtue rendition of Moany Moany half way through, and the audience rocked with every song. This was my first time to a concert like this. At the end, after Bat and the band walked off stage, the audience was shouting for more and got it. I don't know if it is true or not, but Meat said it was the first time they have done a come back in fifteen years. Bob D.

July 24th London, UK Hyde Park It was FANTASTIC!!!! He is such a performer, we were all on our feet from the minute he walked on stage, and kept rocking through the whole show. He did all the classics, and even had both his daughters singing along during the Storytellers part. He seemed to be having a ball, and we were in heaven, right by the front of the stage, in the open air park on a glorious night. And WE GOT AN ENCORE!!! He came back and did 'Jonny B Good' for us! The band were taken by surprise, I think he did it because he was enjoying himself so much. Thanks Meat, it was the best night ever!! Katy D.

July 24th London, UK Hyde Park Well what can i say, i dont know where to start. i know I KNOW IT WAS THE BEST CONCERT THAT I HAVE EVER BEEN TO IN MY LIFE. espiecilally as it was my first time seeing Meat live, im only 15, and ive loved Meats music since 1994. i just couldnt believe it when my mum told me i was finally going to see Meat. but all i can say for now is that it was the best time of my life so far. i look forward to seeing Meat in the near future. Jason

July 24th London, UK Hyde Park Absolutely fantastic, spent most of this morning trying to get my voice back. It seemed a poor start in Meat terms, he opened with Life is a Lemon but the following three songs were not known by most of the crowd, and there appeared to be a problem with sound. It was very difficult to hear Meat, and we were not very far from the front. However, these problems were sorted and when Meat launched into Dead Ringer for Love, the place erupted with the crowd singing, dancing and cheering for a further 2 hours. Patti, did a fantastic set and was loved by all. It was fantastic to see both Pearl and Amanda on stage too! A real family affair. Just one thing Meat - cut the language, you are far too good for shock tatics, your performance says it all! Looking forward to Cardiff on Sunday. Natacha V.

July 24th London, UK Hyde Park What can I say...every bit as good as he was in Newcastle Arena 3 or 4 years ago. Fantastic music, entertaining & very witty too. Really wanted to send my bra to the stage, but was too shy! Thanks for the two extra songs. Nicki B.

July 13th Fort Yates, ND Pavilion at Prairie Knights One word...awesome! This is the best concert I have seen. I started listening to Meat in the late 70's...early 80's. I know it dates me, but...whatever. I have waited a long time to see him, and when I heard he was going to be close I knew I had to go. I went with my sister and 3 other gals. Our seats were in Row H... fantastic seats! I loved his opening drum routine, and each segment of the concert got better and better. Can't wait to see him again. Beverly

July 20th Iron Mtn., MI Pine Mountain Music Jam Meat loaf was awesome and it was pretty much the same concert as everyone else except that pearl didn't sing a solo and patty didn't sing a solo, that wouldn't have been awesome! I got some awesome pictures but i didn't get them developed yet i was like 10 feet from the stage!

June 29th Biloxi, MS Beau Rivage Casino My wife Kathy & I have been a "Meat" fan for well over 15 years and this is one concert we wanted to attend out of the many we have seen in our lives. So when I received the announcement from the Beau Rivage, I changed all our vacation plans and work schedules in 2 hours so that we could see the "Meat" live!!!!! There is only one word I could use to describe the actual concert "Tremendous"!!!! I was the best concert we have ever seen. Even though Meat has lost some weight and has shorter hair, his talent, passion and his ability to get the entire audience involved (all age groups were represented) was more phenominal than ever. His entire band were awesome and there are no words to describe the perfomances of Patti & Pearl. They were great!!! Unfortunately, there was no "Meet & Greet" at this venue so we didn't get a chance to meet him in person. However, believe me when I say we will never forget this night and Meat has shown to us and everyone that he not only still has it---- it's only getting better every year!!!! Jim & Kathy R

July 11th Walker, MN Moon Dance Ranch Jam If I died now, I have lived! There will be no other concert that could compare! Words cannot describe the show or feeling of singing with Meat Loaf. Stephanie H.

July 9th Council Bluffs, IA WestFair Amphitheatre great show!!!!!!! set list was about the same as all the other shows he only played one of the knew songs(tear me down)...... at the start of paradise meat actualy walked out into the crowd to yell at a guy who wouldn't wave his finger in the air like everybody else....... that was classic...... patti was great, pearl has a nice voice too... all on all i think it was what i expected; meatloaf and his buddies havin a good time playing a little rock and roll....... it was very very hot and meat still put on his normal high energy show.......... kudows to him for that!!! felix

July 9th Council Bluffs, IA WestFair Amphitheatre This is our generation's Wayne Newton--except that Meat isn't so full of himself and he has more than one hit. The bad is excellent, Patty is excellent and the energy is great. It was a frickin' hundred degrees and the crowd sat on the burned up grass (from the Midwestern drought) or on the pavement. But, the beer was poured and Meat never once backed down from the heat--choosing instead to give the fans that had come to bear the heat left loving the Meat. Dr. M.

July 5th Saratoga, CA Mountain Winery Incredible! 25 years late, my first Meat Loaf show, and words can't describe it. My thanks to the Fan Club for the 8th row seats, which ended up being arms reach from Meat when he was yelling at a lady for coming into the show late. The set list was excellent, even though I did want to hear "For Crying out Loud" and "Objects in the Rearview Mirror". The highlights of the show were when he and Patty started laughing at the end of "I would do Anything for Love" (he said it's the first time in 7 years that anyone has done that to him), and then when he forgot the words to the new song off "Testify" and stopped the song, sat on the drum riser totally befuddled. A little help from Kasim, and he got through it on the next try. Kasim and Patty did a fabulous job in the opening role. Patty could go solo; we need a new rock goddess. Great rendition of "Tie Your Mother Down". Maybe next time Pearl will open and do more than one song. Joe O.
